However, the G635’s unusual design does not automatically imply that it is a bad headset. It feels solid and well-made, and the headband has a wide range of adjustability, so it should fit gamers of all ages. We just wish the headset wasn’t so tight and the microphone was hidden. There’s no denying that the Logitech G635 is primarily a gaming headset. Even before the RGB lights turn on, the headset has a purposeful and slightly chunky appearance, with plenty of cushioning on the ear cups and headband to ensure comfort. We found this to be mostly true, with the headset snugly hugging our heads without putting any pressure on our ears. However, this is a very tight-fitting headset that put a lot of pressure just above and ahead of our ears. We grew accustomed to it over time, but it initially grips the temples a little too tightly for our liking. In better news, the fabric used by Logitech is soft while remaining breathable, and we didn’t notice any heat buildup while gaming. The microphone on the G635 isn’t detachable, but it folds neatly into the side of the left earcup. It’s a clever design that converts the headset into a standard pair of wired headphones for when you want to game alone, listen to music, or watch a movie. To better reach your mouth, the solid microphone boom pivots downwards, and the microphone itself can be pulled out on an articulating arm. However, we don’t think there’s enough movement here, so the microphone sits further away from our mouth than we’re used to, and it’s always visible.
