How to Enable the language bar in Windows 10

1. Make it visible

Click Apply button and the language bar should appear on the taskbar.
2. Check the registry
You may need to make a minor change to the Windows registry to make the language bar reappear on the taskbar. Press Windows + R to open the RUN prompt and type regedit before pressing Enter.
You now navigate to the following folder path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE MicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun Right-click anywhere in the empty area in the right pane and select String Value under New.
That will create a new file called New Value # 1 and you can name it anything. Right-click on it and select Modify.
Enter the following value. “Ctfmon” = “CTFMON.EXE”
Press Ok and reboot your system to check if the language bar is visible on the taskbar.
3. Run an SFC scan
This utility scans your Windows system for irregularities and corrupt files and repairs them. One of these files is Windows Resource Protection or WRP, which is necessary for the language bar to work properly. Let’s see if it is missing or damaged. Press Windows + R to open the Run prompt and type cmd before pressing Enter. The title of the Command Prompt window should be Administrator: Command Prompt and not just Command Prompt. If not, manually search for Command Prompt from the taskbar, right-click and select Run as admin.
Type the following command and hit Enter to run it. sfc / scannow Note: Do not use the system while the scan is in progress. It may take a while for the scan to complete. When it’s done, exit the command prompt and check if the language bar is now visible. If not, we move to the next solution.
4. Remove / add a language
Some users have reported removing and adding their favorite secondary languages to the trickTo do this, press the Windows + I shortcut to open Settings and click on Time and Language.
Under Region and Language, you can delete a language pack by clicking its name and selecting the Delete option. Keep your primary language as it is and remove secondary languages - all of them.
To add a language again, click Add language on the same screen, search for your preferred language and click Next.
In the next screen you can select whether you want the language for display only or also for speech and handwriting. Click Install and you’re done.
5. Update Windows
Are you using the latest version of Windows? Press the Windows key + I keys to open Settings and select Update & security.
Click Check for updates button and if there are any, Windows will offer to install them. Windows installs these updates automatically for the most part, but automatic updates may be disabled on your system.
