The way this enables this is through Samsung’s SmartSwitch app, which asks you to physically connect a Samsung phone with an iPhone via a Lightning to USB-C cable. If you’re on a Samsung device and want to transfer your chats, there are a few things you need to keep under control. First, make sure you have the latest version of the Samsung SmartSwitch app – 3.7.22.1 or higher. Also, make sure you’re running Android 10 and have a factory reset device for this to work effectively. You will also need iOS WhatsApp version 2.21.160.17 or higher on iPhone and version 2.21.16.20 or higher on Android device (Samsung). Another caveat is that the number must be the same, you cannot switch chats to a different number. If you prepared all this, let’s start the exchange. Now, on the Samsung device, open WhatsApp and log in using your phone number, the same as on the iPhone. Soon, WhatsApp will ask you to ‘Import’.
