How to enable or disable (disable) Google Play Protect
Google Play Protect is available for devices running Google Play Services version 11 and above and is enabled by default on your device. To check your version of Google Play Services, go to Device Settings followed by Apps, scroll down and find Google Play Services. Tap on it and just below the name “Google Play Services” you will find a number. This number is the version of your app. If it’s above 11, Google Play Protect must be available on your device. For devices running Android Marshmallow and below, Google Play Protect is located in Device Settings » Google » Security » Google Play Protect (or Scan apps). This is still not an easily detectable area, but on Android Nougat and above, Google Play Protect is also present in the Google Play Store. Just open the Google Play Store and tap on the Menu icon present in the upper left corner to open the navigation drawer, followed by tapping on “Play Protect”.
