The strong internal magnets pull the buds into the case. The design of the earbuds matches the case and stays true to the round whimsy theme. The outside of each earbud is covered in the same matte rubberized texture, while the inside is smooth plastic. At the top of each earplug is a vent to relieve pressure from ANC. If you frequently get out in the rain or participate in sweaty activities, the IPX7 certification of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro should ensure that your earbuds hold up. The fit may not be ideal for runners, even if the IP rating is true. The lack of stabilizers or hooks may mean that you have to rely entirely on the shape of the bud and the perfect fit with one of the three sets of earbuds to secure the buds. The silicone earbuds are quite utilitarian in three sizes: 11 mm, 13 mm and 15 mm. They are easy to replace, which is nice considering that changing some earplugs is a tricky process. Use the app’s fit test to make sure you choose the right set. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro don’t offer the most secure fit, but they are among the most comfortable for long stretches. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is mainly aimed at Samsung owners with its exclusive Samsung Seamless Codec, everyone else has the Bluetooth codecs AAC or SBC to choose from. It also has an auto-switch function for switching devices as long as they are Samsung devices and you are logged in with a Samsung account – similar to the H1 chip and the soon-to-be H2 chip in Apple products. To stay on the cutting edge of technology, Samsung is also equipping the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro with Bluetooth 5.3; expect LE audio support as soon as it’s generally available. With ANC enabled, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro last 4 hours and 50 minutes at a peak volume of 75 dB(SPL).
